Holy jeez are those heads tiny and those arms long. I mean, Slenderman would look NORMAL in one of those, maybe slightly pudgy...

    It's not off model if it's on purpose.


    They just draw really (really really really) tall and thin characters as a stylistic thing.  And really, it works for them and looks fine.


    Also not all Clamp art even looks like that.

    Anyway, I know that Magic Knight Rayearth and Angelic Layer don't look like that, but I'm not sure if they were drawn/animated by other people.

    Angelic Layer was animated by BONES and I've never even seen images of the manga, so it might be different there.

    Angelic Layer's manga is not noodly.


    And neither is Cardcaptor Sakura, for the most part (probably since all the main characters are children).


    Chobits isn't either, I don't think (the anime certainly wasn't).


    ^ Well, it certainly looks distinctive and appeals to the people they're trying to appeal to (i.e. not you).

    "Off model" is when something is drawn inaccurate to the intended design. It does not mean "bizarre anatomy".

    Yeah, the vast majority of shoujo artists seem to follow some rather strict guidelines that make the characters look much less human than they do in any other manga demographic.


    Then again, my opinion here is probably not so valid given that the only shoujo anime I've ever properly watched are Ouran High School Host Club and Princess Tutu.
