  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

Deutsch ist einfach mein zweiter Favorit Sprache. Es ist auch ein wunderbarer Ort zu besuchen. Aber Japanisch ist auch nett.

  • Kichigai birthday!!
    I understood most of that!

    Also suomi on paras :-D
  • JHMJHM

^^ Already learning a second language generally makes learning a third easier.

Je parle un petit peu de français, mais je parle pas cette langue avec la fluence.

  • Since this is now a German thread, someone tell me how to go about studying it.

  • Your worth is 50 yen!

    > "...well, it either means "teapot group" or "fag brigade". I would usually assume the former, but with Blackmoon I just don't think I can be too sure."

    bahahahaha

    it's the second one

    > "Je parle un petit peu de français, mais je parle pas cette langue avec la fluence."

If "cette langue" refers to French, it's more natural to say "mais j'en parle pas". And I think "avec la fluence" is an anglicism; my tendency would be to say just "couramment".

I still speak German really poorly :V

  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!
Some German is actually pretty easy to pick apart. I said it's my favorite language besides my own, but Japanese is nice too.
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.

I actually like german a lot. Second to russian. So many languages to learn and so many obligations.

  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

Yes, I'm thankful for having learned it. Glad my friend convinced me all those years ago.

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.

Ooh! I got that! I got that! :D

  • A Mind You Do NOT Want To Read

What is Saturn's native language, anyway? Because I get the distinct feeling it's not English...

  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

Um, actually no, I'm straight 'murican, dawg.

Seriously, I've lived in America my entire life, and it's my native language. Born on the east coast <-<

    Why...does it suck?

  • A Mind You Do NOT Want To Read

No, no. Sorry, I just somehow got that feeling. Don't know where it came from, but it got stuck in my mind for a little while.

  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

    Oh, alrighty then :p

So, in this part of the my guide, it says that while it teaches me the language, all the grammar, vocab, etc, it says that something helpful is studying your passion alongside it. I'm making a vocab flashcard list with Anki with video game terms, and things related to fiction and story that would be helpful. You think you guys could help?

This was all from a not too fleshed out wikibooks page. Still, very helpful. What words do you guys think I should add to the list?

  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
    "historical"

    and

    "validity"

    :3c
  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

    歴史的正当性!

I'm now imagining Alex charging into battle, full samurai gear, and yelling this.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

I AM A HISTORICALLY VALID COSPLAYER

  • Ridi, Pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto!

I also went ahead and added things like Fantasy and Sci-fi related terms to the list. I'm gonna move on to looking for things like monsters and weapons.

Oh, and elements and types of magic would probably help too.

  • edited 2012-12-17 21:57:26

I haven't read it all, but:

    leather レザー

    fire ファイア
    cure 治す ケアル

Should be かわ、 ひ and なおす respectively (what you've got there are English words in katakana).

  • Look more carefully; those are each pairs of two. The first word is what you just said, and then the second word is the English word in katakana.

  • What I'm getting at is that these aren't the readings of their respective Japanese word (and that ケアル is not cure, キュア is),

Also, the same goes for buckler (shield) and armor.

    Regardless, a few other things:

    HP (Health Points) 体力 たいりょく
    MP (Magic Points) 魔力 まりょく

These correspond to strength and magic power.

    continue   つづく

    Kanjified it's 続く (used often)

    mythril ミスリル

    Should be 霊銀.
