Amazon's Servers go down - Several Major Sites go with it
Don't they spread the stuff better than that?
GameFAQs, Reddit, and Bulbapedia are all down. I'm wondering what other sites have been hit by this
Comments
I'm able to access Amazon, but IsUp.Me says its down. Huh.
The better question is why these sites depend on Amazon.com existing to work.
^Basically yes. They rent out both storage space and they rent out virtual servers.
Yeah, a lot of sites are hosted on Amazon, because it's cheaper in a lot of cases.
Amazon still works for me, yet IsUp.Me says it's down. Is the downtime region-dependent?
Doesn't Amazon also rent out cloud servers to Valve?
@Naas_H_Sapiens Probably. Amazon's servers are highly region-based. isup.me probably checks a different server than yours.
@RocketDude Probably, although I don't know the details.
Amazon does quite a lot of server renting for various different purposes. It's more or less the other major service they provide these days.
