I wouldn't say that Mr. Foote hates fun; he marks The Tatami Galaxy as one of his favourite series, and I think that show is extremely fun. He just didn't like the way that Katanagatari handled its tone. If I recall correctly, a lot of people had that problem with it.
Well yeah, I know.
I just felt like taking issue with something.
That said, looking at some of his other reviews, I don't really think I'd trust his opinion very much.
He has similar enough taste to mine for me to trust his judgements on a personal level, yet there are some things that he likes that I will probably never cotton to wholly.
