My college now has a Minecraft club, a Brony club and a Furry club
I'm halfway tempted to start a Black Eyed Peas cover group and call it Spergie. It's that bad.
Comments
How could any of those hold an entire club? Are they college recognized?
Apparently so. But man, those things are just so goddamn specific. Minecraft I can kind of understand. But holy fuck, both a Furry and a Brony club? They are so exactly the goddamn same.
How many fedoras have you seen? Where are you going to college?
IIRC there was a survey of the bronies that wound up showing there was very little overlap with furries.
And my high school had a Starcraft club, so...
^^^ Hey, hey
Not all of us are Bronies >
@ Delta:
8 Fedoras, 11 newsboy hats. At least 2 bowlers.
Does it have an anime club and/or a gaming club?
Legend has it that if you can steal 100 fedoras from pretentious college students within 3 days, you will be granted 1 wish.
^ Doesn't seem that hard. Advertise something that draws in the hipsters, then trap them and take the hats
You'll have more success with an autism awareness club to reel in the bronies than a furry club.

I thought my school was weird, what with it having Pokemon, Paranormal, and M:tG clubs, but that doesn't come close.
I'd try it at my school (and it would be worth it, because fuck fedoras), but I actually haven't seen many fedoras. Which really surprises me, with this being a liberal arts school.
Man, other than the racing one, our faculty doesn't have any of these fancy nerd clubs, or weren't well attended.
Edit: And not as specific as these.
The anime and film clubs die out every 3 semesters. The heads of those things either graduate or drop out.
Correct
Also, Alky, that sounds almost like a Myrm quote :V
It's not, but I dunno... sure they may like dumb stuff, but whatever makes them happy I guess. I mean clubs for minecraft and bronies don't detract from the possibility of clubs for stuff you like existing.
Well it is true that some organizations are held together by charismatic leaders.
I guess I can count myself lucky. My college has no Minecraft/Brony/whatever club, exactly 2 people in the entire campus wear fedoras, and I'm in the anime club and can confirm that it's creep free.
> I can confirm that it's creep free
I used to be able to do this, but I can't do it now.
I guess you're lucky that people around you don't like harmless things or wear unfashionable clothing.
^^^ You lucky bastard.
Yeah, I have no idea why not having a Minecraft club is something worth celebrating. It may be overly specific, but there's nothing creepy/bad about that.
Sounds like that's why you'd celebrate it, rather than feeling dubiously honored by it.
edit: OOPS I MISREAD
You'd celebrate not having a Minecraft club because it's not creepy/bad?
As I've said my main contention is they seem too specific to be able to hold a consistent club.
I dunno. A Minecraft club'd be able to get together and be like "oh fuck yeah let's build X" and then get together on a multiplayer server or whatever.
Seems more the type of thing that would be informal, but I really don't see anything inherently bad about a club like that.
Fair enough, I haven't played much Minecraft as it's really not my kind of game but if they can sustain a club like that go for it.
^^By itself Minecraft is harmless, it's just that it's become a red flag for that certain breed of fedora wearing, libertarian, possibly racist/sexist/homophobic, neckbeard that I've come to hate.
