The character Ally Connolly, from Element Hunters, is claimed to be Egyptian.
Ally, likely short for Allison, is an English-language name derived from old German. Probably more importantly, Connolly is an Irish surname. The closest thing she comes to being Egyptian is having vaguely dark skin.
There's a photo of her parents in the show, in episode 14 (warning: MASSIVE spoilers in that episode). Her dad is dark-skinned, and her mom is light-skinned and brown-haired. So going by phenotype stereotypes, it's probably an interracial marriage where her dad is of Egyptian descent. Then how did she pick up "Connolly" as her surname? Maybe she's for some reason like my (real-life) friend who has his mom's surname.
The show never really gives nationalities for any other characters, other than suggesting them through names.
* Chiara Ferina: "Ferina" is the feminine form for "feral" and Chiara is an actual Italian first name, so Chiara Ferina is probably of Italian descent. Alternatively, a misspelling of "Farina", the Italian word for flour.
* Homi Nandie: strongly implied to be Indian.
* Ren Karas: I think his name sounds vaguely Greek but I haven't gotten around to checking.
On the other hand,
* Rodney Ford
* Tom Benson
* Hannah Weber
They all have English-language names. As does Ally Connolly. Except possibly Weber, which I know is German. Then again, they spent their entire lives on the space station, so it might be more fair to call them "international"...

But if you're watching the show...
In any case, this was pretty hilarious in Highlander, given that our Egyptian swordmaster is light-skinned, sounds Scottish when the main character doesn't, spent apparently much of his time in Spain and carries a Japanese sword.
...you're watching it?
No, but you didn't appear to spoil anything unless the skin tone of her parents was a large plot point.
Oh, I just meant that if you watch the whole of that ep it has big spoilers. In fact, big spoilers immediately before and after that picture appears.
But a spoiler is irrelevant if you happen to actually be watching the show, unless you're worried about being spoiled by something you're watching. Which is kind of like understanding the concept of spoilers but not really getting the gist of it.
that was actually my first thought.
then again, who doesn't find the concept of Juan really silly and hila...wait.
