Trying to find a good laptop that can play most games at 720p at medium settings, does not have a shitty 1366x768 screen resolution and is not expensive should not be this god damned hard.

Honestly, even the expensive gaming laptops aren't very good in my experience. If you want to game, you'd probably be better off buying a cheap laptop and spending the rest of the money on a good gaming PC.
^It's a diminishing returns kind of thing, I'd say you're better off doing the split thing if you're going to spend more then $1000.
Alternatively, you could wait until Black Friday and get something good for cheap. I got mine for about $800 which does all of what you wanted (except the screen which I don't care about).
I know that, I just don't have the room for a desktop and honestly 720p should not be that demanding. The Intel hd 4000 can pull 30 fps on low settings at 720p in some recent games from the benchmarks I've seen of it.
^ It's to replace a 3-4 year old laptop with a dying battery and dying hard drive, I don't know if it will last to black Friday.
Well, the laptop's battery has finally died and I cannot get beyond the bios screen for more than a few seconds. Thank god for computer labs, the ability to borrow family members laptops and other devices. Now I've been looking at this laptop as a replacement. If anyone has any other suggestions or reason why I should not get it speak up.
^That is a slightly better version of the laptop I am using right now, so it should serve you well.
That looks like pretty much what my parents recently bought, though ours is a Toshiba. Works pretty well.
Better on focus too. That is, your own focus, not being distracted by games.
