I'm Paranoid about people looking at my screen

edited 2011-03-22 11:06:11 in General

and taking something completly out of context.

It started when I was in highschool and was browsing devart on the library computers during my lunch hour.  I saw one picture that looked like a clip from a movie (like a Disney movie) and clicked on it believing it to be completly innocent.  Turns out form the comments (the picture was fairly innocent the comments  not so much) and before I turn back my screen froze up.  The librarian took a screen shot of it and printed it out then yelled at me for it and i was too shocked and embarassed to explain what had happened.  I got kicked out of the library for a month,  I told my sister and she thought it was reaaly unfair but ever since I have always been reeeaally freaked out about people seeing my screen.

Even in my own home I tend to shut the door and  look over my shoulder a lot. It's worse when I'm on public computers.  How do I quit worrying about this?

Don't look at stuff with comments in public, especially in school libraries.

DeviantArt is kinda an interesting case.  There's a lot of "possibly sketchy" stuff on there, due to the fact that there are a number of bondage and diaper fetishists on there.  Some of the images catering to those fetishists aren't marked as NSFW.  Though thankfully they're just thumbnails.

    Also, get a screen protector.
  • Well I'm out of school now.
