This comic got me to thinking...

I saw this page of Ctrl+Alt+Del, and a comment on it got to me thinking:

Are there any good books, webcomics, or games that deal with a transplant of a typical RPG hero into modern times? How would things like them breaking into a temple and taking items of power be dealt with? What about how creatures like Orcs get attacked?

Urban fantasy seems like the genre it would fit in, so I guess that narrows it down, but it really makes me wonder...

  • Moon: Remix RPG Adventure (PS1 game) isn't quite what you're looking for, since it's still set in a typical RPG fantasy setting, but its story apparently has something to do with how RPG heroes would basically seem like thieves and murderers when looked at outside of the context of typical RPG gameplay... or something.  Unfortunately, there's currently no English translation, though apparently there's a fan translation in progress.

^ That will be fun to play once I find a half decent emulator
