Was just thinking.
You have a meme like NEDM, which intend to shout down and strongly discourage animal cruelty.
Then you have a meme like POMF =3, whose original context is a little girl about to get molested by several older boys.
Shouldn't there be a scale that lets us put one at the "upright" end and the other at the "disgusting" end?
Then you have a meme like pedobear, which could be interpreted as mocking or endorsing pedophilia. So maybe we put in an additional scale--or maybe a triangle plot--where we include how morally ambiguous something is. NEDM is pretty unambiguously upright, POMF =3 is pretty unambiguously disgusting, and pedobear is probably disgusting but ambiguous.
I know, I know, I just made another thread about a scale. Whatever.

No, not really.
Doesn't look like NEDM really went anywhere as far as memes go.
Well, I like it. And I throw NEDM at people when they talk about animal abuse, for what it's worth.
...come to think of it, you could use this thing to see whether there's any correlation between moral rectitude or moral ambiguity and popularity.
4chan gave us POMF, but it also gave us Rick Astley. I'd say it's a crapshoot.
Rickrolling seems to be morally neutral and unambiguous.
I was just reading an article on Goatse...
Morally neutral but supremely disgusting?
By "disgusting" I meant that in moral terms, but...well, I guess we could actually rename the "moral rectitude" scale to "sensibility/acceptability", which is about the same thing generally speaking.
Then things like Goatse and 2G1C now count as very disgusting, possibly with some moral ambiguities.
