People making their OCs by slightly editing existing characters? Take a stroll around Deviant art and see for yourself.
Even worse? Fanon OCs that keep cropping up everywhere.
The actual phrase, if it was ever used, has been killed by the use as a punchline.
Fanfiction writers can be tremendously stupid.
