(I don't post here often, so hey.)
Damn computer keeps playing ads (and sometimes songs) for no reason. It's the OS itself the sounds are coming from, not any particular program - I can mute them when they play by going to the Volume Mixer, where the sound's attributed to "Ping Command." I gotta do this every time they pop up or they'll go for 30 seconds or more, which is hella annoying.
I've scanned my computer with both Malwarebytes and ComboFix, but no dice. I think I got the bug from a Diablo 2 keygen I downloaded. (Don't look at me like that, I have two legal copies of the game but not the case the key sticker's on.)

Can you use task manager's processes list to figure out what process is running them?
I've tried it; haven't seen anything I don't recognize.
Did you check the file locations of individual processes?
If those locations check out, then something hijacked one of them. Maybe explorer or something.
