God is a Girl (project)

This is a thread where I just jot down ideas I have for my Kiddy Grade fanfic/fixfic.  (Yes, it had a different working title before.)  Feel free to comment.  The idea is that the story is presented solely through two characters' logs.

I'm not sure about the order of stuff so I'm just going to doodle random ideas.

 

21 Oct 2073: Seven years after the first successful nanomachine enhancements of humans, the GU has produced the first military unit consisting of nanomachine-enhanced special operations (NEMO) personnel, for potential use in assorted missions, under GOSPLE's command.  Armbrust and I have been assigned by GU Internal Oversight (InOs) to monitor this unit's activities, as auditors.

20 May 2074: V&C sent to aid seawall construction effort at coast near Rome.  Current Italian government is distrustful of Gibraltar Lock's ability to keep Mediterranean sea level low enough after recent washouts near Venice ruins, but dealing with austerity issues; requested assistance to accelerate completion of project.

14 Apr 2075: Intelligence from multiple sources is suggesting that other entities--all of them governments or government-backed private entities--are creating their own NESO units.

2 May 2075: Chinese and Indian vigilantes are invading Nepal to secure access to fresh water.  D&S deployed to oversee intergovernmental negotiations.

I need to make more entries between 2073 and 2076 showing "life as usual".

17 Sep 2076: E&L sent in place of T&T on an enforcement mission to quell riots in Saudi Arabia.

20 Sep 2076: E&L have gone MIA.

25 Sep 2076: The government of Saudi Arabia has been overthrown.  New government has not yet been named; a full-fledged civil war is breaking out between supporters of the old regime and revolutionaries.  Reports of unusual circumstances of revolutionaries' victories suggest that E&L are covertly aiding the revolutionaries.

 

9 Jun 2076: Maia and I will be covertly monitoring the actions of GOSPLE's NEMO unit, as well any other NEMO units that may arise.

 

11 Jan 2077: In the course of GOSPLE's internal investigations into E&L and U&A going rogue, we have discovered not only several non-GU NESO units (such as Noyabr/Iyun' and Niña/Nao), but also an NE espionage unit consisting of persons codenamed Maia and Nyx.

15 April 2077: Reports indicate that work began on a U.S. public-private effort to create a NESO unit called Project Faith approximately one month prior.

30 May 2077: Based on recent events in New Zealand and Thailand, it appears that N&N have allied themselves with E&L in opposing the GU.

4 Jun 2077: D'Autriche has enabled a means for us for limited contact with E&L.

8 Jul 2077: As reported by T&T, brief contact (and conflict) with N&N near what appears to be their home in Tokyo.

18 Dec 2077: Project Faith has succeeded in creating the first wholly artificial NE human, a female to be codenamed Faith.

25 Sep 2077: In just one year, anti-government forces have succeeded in toppling five regimes around the world.  This outpaces the Arab Spring of the 2010s.  E&L have been very much on the move, but their increased visibility is capturing attention worldwide as they continue to support rebel groups.  An old (2002) song, "God Is a Girl", has been topping music sales charts, with interest in it reinvigorated by the actions of this duo.

30 Sep 2077: Some people have even begun revering E&L (especially Éclair) as the second coming of Christ.

1 Nov 2077: Considering that nanomachine-enhanced "superheroes"/"supersoldiers" are no secret anymore, Noyabr has come out publicly.  It remains to be seen whether her partner will do the same.  In the meantime, she has styled herself as the "White Devil", and Russian investors are enthusiastically merchandising her fame, with everything from action figures to perfumes.
