People who believe they are vampires

edited 2011-03-21 01:33:57 in Media
One thing I have never understood is how strong of a mind (or how strong your ability to hallucinate is) you would need in order to convince yourself on a daily basis that you are in fact, a vampire. There are some people who withdraw from society during the day, drink blood (they take different measures in collecting it) and trying to play to type in order not to be caught in a lie or be exposed as a human.

Why would you want to be a vampire? Sure, in movies they are extremely attractive and super powerful, but in general, you can only gain the former by pretending, and it's impossible to gain the former. Another thing that seems to bug me is, that some people will actually believe (mostly other fauxpires and vampire fans) the charade.

There are also no such thing as non-grim fauxpires either. They never seem to dress normally, or carry a nice conversation.

Some people believe that they are animals.

Some people believe that they are the only hope of the world to convince other people to join their religion.

And some people enjoy playing Grand Theft Autocracy with an entire north African country.

Wishful Thinking. They know they aren't vampires, but they can't help but feel inferior to the idea of a fictional being, so they emulate it to make themselves feel powerful or important. Not always a bad thing, but being a vampire is expensive, since it involves more than just a fur suit or a mask, and you have to spend money on a lot of clothing, and sacrifice hours of the day to stay in character, meaning, less money from your work.

Vampire's Kiss is first and foremost the subtitle of one of the SNES Castlevania games.

Kiss of the Vampire was a movie made in 1963.

That's pretty much the only thing the words "Vampire's Kiss" make me think of.
  • They're somethin' else.
    @ Glenn

The Euro version of the game, at least.
