What do people here use to sync things to MP3 players? Updating iTunes fucked things up for me.
I just drag the files into the MP3 player's music folder.
Fair enough.
What kind of MP3 player do you use, Nyktos?
I just voted. In a primary special election for probate judge.
The contest today seems to be effectively between the party bases in my town and a neighboring town, to see whether our town's candidate or their town's candidate gets our party's nomination, for the general special election in about two months.
For those who don't know what these terms mean:
* general election: the one where all registered voters get to vote for a choice between each party's candidates
* primary election: the one where (typically) all voters of a certain party get to choose between different candidates to be the party's nominee in the general election
* special election: an election that happens at a time when elections are not normally scheduled. Elections are usually held once ever X amount of time, such as two or four years. Special elections are held when stuff happens unexpectedly, usually because the position became vacant. In this case, the previous probate judge died.
* probate judge: a judgeship that deals with issues of estates, wills, the deceased, family law, and related issues. I live in district 4 of the Connecticut Probate Court system.

Are there MP3 players that are basically flashdrives that can play back MP3s?
Quite common, they are.
What are their names?
I might be more interested in such a player than in an iWhatever.
One of my textbooks for this fall will cost me about $45.
The good news is that this isn't completely unreasonable like $150.
The bad news is that for a paperback it's not any cheaper; even used copies cost like $41.
@glennmagusharvey:
Sony Walkman. I don't know the model number off hand and I can't seem to find the thing. (I haven't used it in a while.)It can pretty much work as you described, too.
Can you take MP3 files off of it and put them on another computer?
Heck, can you store non-MP3 files on it and use it like a flash drive?
Flash MP3 player?
I have one of those, and yes, that's the idea
You can do that with basically anything, including iPods.
@glennmagusharvey: Yes and yes.
But you have to specially convert mp3s to work on an iPod's music playing function.
Do you have to do it with these non-iPod mp3 players? Or will it just play the mp3s natively?
This one can play MP3s. Most can. Hence why they're called MP3 players, though most can play other formats too, such as Microsoft's and Apple's proprietary ones.
I'm pretty sure (at least some) iPods can play actual MP3s as well.
Brb freaking out about life and mortality again.
I once saw somebody who wrote my name on their McDonalds burger with tomato sauce. That was a pretty weird experience, but it didn't cause me to question the purpose of life.
I don't really know why I posted that except that you reminded me of it and it was weird.
to be fair, it didn't say "RIP"
Yeah, Ace Attorney was released in Japan a few months ago. I think I only got to see it because it was on the plane's movie list.
They'll probably released it soon enough to the rest of the world.
No, but they did eat it.
that doesn't have to be interpreted as death so much as, you know, secks
