Until now, your financial aid was applied toward your account balance, then whatever was left over was refunded to you (either as a check or a direct deposit), so you could use it to buy textbooks or whatever other supplies you needed.
But they're changing it up for Autumn Semester: Your financial aid will still be applied to your account balance, but instead of refunding you the difference in cash, they'll give you a credit at the campus bookstore. If you don't spend the credit, you're eventually given an actual refund...after classes have already started.
So, basically, they're trying their damnedest to force you to buy their overpriced textbooks from their store instead of seeking out reasonably-priced ones elsewhere, unless you can afford to pay for them out of pocket until your refund shows up. FUCK YOU.
