I am concerned I have too many games to play

I have a lot of games I haven't finished, and I feel like I'm rather "irresponsibly" putting things down.  And this makes it hard for me to pick up games that put down a while back to give me a senses of fulfillment and accomplishment from finishing them (and the enjoyment of seeing their endings).

  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!

    That feel. I knows it.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

The only game I own I haven't finished is SMT: Strange Journey and it's because I have no idea what to do.

    You can change. You can.

malk, i heard about this thing called gamefaqs, it's quite interesting...

  • We Played Some Open Chords and Rejoiced, For the Earth Had Circled the Sun Yet Another Year
    That feel. I knows it.
  • Here here, still ashamed I've not finished God Hand. And it's the shortest one on my To-Do list. D:

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

Everyone after a big Steam sale knows this feel.

  • Definitely not gay.

I still have yet to finish Super Castlevania 4.

  • I tend to return to these games a year or two later, often as a deliberate substitute when I'm trying to keep myself from buying a popular but expensive new game. (Among other things, this was how I finally beat Fallout New Vegas.)

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!

Funny thing is I went there. Followed what they said to the letter.

    Still didn't work.
  • My arms are falling off!

    On my backlog:

    • Etrian Odyssey III (about 60% complete, 50% if you count the 6th Stratum)

    • Devil Summoner 2 (only got as far as the part with the illusion maze thingy; as an added bonus it's on loan from a friend)

    • Shin Megami Tensei II (just before the second colosseum boss)

    • Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne (goddamn Matador)

    • Cloudphobia (want to ALL clear)

Still want to obtain, in order of priority:

    • Devil Survivor 2

    • Rhythm Heaven Fever

    • La-Mulana enhanced version

    • Xenoblade Chronicles

    • Trauma Team

    • Shin Megami Tensei: If...

yeah i totally have my priorities straight yeah no

This isn't just in the aftermath of a Steam sale.

I don't even splurge on Steam sales.  I am mostly uninterested in Steam's offerings and besides I don't like the Steam wrapper as DRM even if it is light as far as DRM goes.  I've bought maybe a handful of games from Steam; the rest of my Steam library comes from bundles and from gifts from others.

And for that matter, I also don't count those games that I have but don't care to play.

But I still have a long list of games I mean to finish but haven't gotten around to finishing yet.  Here's a sample:

    • Castlevania Order of Ecclesia: get all the items.

    • Aquaria: well, go farther.  I've just completed the Energy Temple, which is pretty early in the game I think.

    • Recettear: finish that first loop in the black.  It's just hard to find time to sit down and actually play this, what with all the careful planning it requires.  But I really, really want to finish it.

    • Pokémon Trading Card Game: played this a long time ago. seemed fun. requires lots of active memory to think about deck planning strategy, so I really haven't had the chance to get back into it.

    • Shaman King Master of Spirits: just got to the final area; been meaning to backtrack and get the other spirits.

    • Nostalgia: pretty far into this game, but I tabled it to work on various other things, such as applications. need to remember how stuff was when I stopped.
