You got any files that you want to use on other computers, but you'd rather not carry them around on a flash drive or anything like that? Put it on Dropbox, so you can let them worry about storage space.
You got any files that you want to share with a few people on the Internet, but after that you don't want anyone else touching it? Put it on Dropbox, then take it back off when your friends all have their own copies of it.
You need to stash away all your digital porn, but don't have any good places left to hide it? Put it in a password-protected archive file, then put the archive file on Dropbox so that no-one can touch it except you.
I have a folder that fits that description very, very well.
I use mine mainly for two things: Hosting stupid images to post on TVT and its spinoffs...
...and as a backup for my 700 MB of road sign photos, in case anything should ever happen to my hard drive.
OK, this is gonna take a while.
So I have like 57 MB worth of ROMs (after I purged it of shitty games and the like) and that isn't nearly the biggest thing I'm syncing.
My gaming group uses a shared dropbox to store rulebooks and the like. I mainly use mine to store funny images I want to reuse later.
Mine is full, and I have no idea what to take out. If something happens to the files within, that'd suck.
Oh hey, they're giving out free space based on referrals. Does anyone want to be invited and get extra space too?
What's the difference between that and doing the same on any other folder besides dropbox?

Useful for committee files, if not for the fact that there's no system to it and everything gets lost inside the myriad of subfolders.
