He's just so...wrong.
Just picked up Batman-Hellboy-Starman. For those not in the know, it involves Batman teaming up with a B-list superhero and Hellboy to stop a Nazi cult from summoning an Eldritch Abomination. Yeah, pretty standard Hellboy stuff. What bugs me is how Mignola draws the Joker.
Good GOD, he's...I dunno, I just don't like how he drew Joker.

Starman isn't the most popular hero, y'know.
He was plenty badass in this series, though. And his nemesis is cool.
I'm pretty sure that considering that James Dale Robinson and Tony Harris were not household names before Starman and now are two of the most prominent writers and artists in the industry, I wouldn't say it's not "popular". Granted, it hasn't got a movie adaptation like Hellboy and Batman, but still!
I can't find any pictures.
would it be this?
You say it as if the Joker wasn't a dapper motherfucker already.
No, that doesn't look like one of Mignola's.
Mignola's Joker had this Kirby ape-mouth going on.
It actually is his cover for an anniversary edition of A Death In the Family, but fair enough. I'll see what I can do, then.
I think that Mignola's signature style just doesn't fit Joker. Joker is happy, vibrant, and completely nuts. Mignola's more suited to drawing dark and gritty anti-heroes. Like Hellboy!
Mignola isn't a bad artist, he's a good artist with a veeery specific niche.
oh here we are. Found.
It's...um...OK, yeah, I see where you're coming from,
With that said, there's a certain charm to it.
Yep, that's it.
On that note, it looks like fairly good image reaction material.
tis why i left it in my dropbox.
...You know, maybe I should be ignored as the only DC or Marvel comic I have ever read is a single issue of x men
Not really, no. You're allowed to have preferences and such. --shrug--
