If it's for adults, you might as well go ALL THE WAY, and dump every dark and twisted thing imaginable in there. Its the problem with some mature works. You need to add cussing, rape, hardcore fetishes and pain into the series because, hell why not? Also, isn't rape a commonly owned fetish for hentai fans anyway?

Psychologically, since most of them are watching hentai, that would mean that they aren't going to be having sex with their girlfriend on a regular basis, and it helps vent the feelings of domination for others, while replicating the rage and stimulating the deeper Id inside of the watcher for being denied one times too many?

Having a fantasy rape fetish does not equate to actually wanting to rape someone or to be raped by someone. My wife and I both qualify, and neither of us have the desire to take it any further than roleplay between two consenting partners (or a quiet evening watching BondageQueenKate =P).

I'm not all too familiar with romance novels, but surely the rape in such novels is still man > woman, essentially making it a different fetish altogether, that is, the reverse of the male perspective in hentai.

What point were you trying to make? That because women also like it, that it's somehow acceptible?

Oh no, not at all. I'm not sure how you read "Women also have rape fetishes" to mean "Rape is fine!"

I was simply responding to Vorpy's suggestion that non-consensual porn exists because "Men like rape" by saying that while, yes, there are men who find fictional NC acts as a turn-on, there are plenty of women who see it the same way as well.

Note in my posts where I've made it a point to distinguish fictional/fantasy rape from the act itself. It is entirely possible to have an NC kink while viewing the real life act as abhorrent. I most certainly do.

@Poni: That's pretty much what I was saying. It's entirely possible (and rather likely) that one would have an NC fetish without a desire for that to happen in real life.

The same I imagine would apply to most NC Hentai fans.
