"I made the Moral Guardians angry! I'm awesome!"
That's not really a noble goal to set, people. Nor a particularly challenging one.
(I'm lookin' at you, Frank Zappa.)

what's wrong with counter cultural statements
What do you have against Frank Zappa?
But it's a fun one, provided the offender isn't a smug dick about it.
^^ I don't like his personality, and since his personality is so indelibly tied into his music, I can't get into that either.
I'm down with any guy who was able to get an Explicit Content warning from the RIAA for an instrumental album.
I'd say getting people upset at you is a noble moral goal.
If your work incites no one, angers no one, inspires no one, entraps no, then it's dead and nothing.
I don't see the point in counteracting against a culture for the sake of doing so, but when the culture is damaging, rotten and based on old preconceptions and paradigms that do more harm than good? then...well, it's the very least you can do as a responsible citizen.
I think counteracting for the sake of counteracting is productive if only that it pushes and tests the limits of what we as a society will accept.
