Being paranoid about how many things I like now that I'll dislike in the future
I always worry that my tastes are somehow immature or bad, or undeveloped as they are now.

Dogg, I watch My Little Pony. How do you think I feel?
^ That reminds me, my friend is doing a GREAT job of dragging me into the fandom x.x I've found myself looking up MLP stuff out of my own free will. At this rate I'm going to end up giving the show another chance and end up liking it
Honestly, I've learned that I'll hate everything I like tomorrow so who gives a shit, just enjoy yourself.
I've deliberately decided not to re-read Kevin Smith's Green Arrow now that I'm grumpy old man that hates everything.
Am I the only one that's gotten less grumpy as I got older?
^^ I've also grown less grumpy and gotten a HELL of a lot more mellow
I've gotten less grumpy as I got older. This doesn't mean I am not grumpy, though.
I've grown less willing to invest in bullshit as I've gotten older since it is my own time and money going towards it.
Just plain old bitter here.
There's a sick pleasure in watching the other's disgust at your immature tastes.
Meh, you can twist any taste into looking immature. Reading philosophers? Intellectual pretensions, naive and out of touch with the real world. Watching gritty realistic stuff? Hurr, so deep and edgy. Reading long epics? Too much free time on your hands/sperglord who never gets out of the house.
I'd say you can like something for shallow reasons, but that's very hard to do. Even watching something mindless to relax or something formulaic out of escapism is a valid reason for someone of any age.
