I clench my fists and yell "anime" towards an uncaring, absent God, and swear solemnly to press my thumbs into Chocolate America's eyeballs until he is blinded, to directly emasculate sporting figures, to beat the shit out of tumblr users with baseball bats, and to quietly appreciate what Waylon Smithers being gay means to me.
Both are about a drunk guy and have choruses that are meant to carry the entire song. But which is better?

"We Are Young"'s chorus got really annoying really quickly so "Tubthumping" by default.

I tried to listen to "We Are Young" and no.
"Tubthumping" is at least a non-terrible song. Also, the video isn't a Windows Phone commercial.
"We Are Young" didn't sound that bad, honestly, and "Tubthumping" is bland at worst, I don't get it
I just listened to both songs.
I find both of them boring.
Tubthumping is catchier, but also more irritating. We Are Young has slightly nicer harmonies, but is less memorable.
Not sure of my opinion on Tubthumping, especially since I nearly missed its heyday. I would hear songs growing up but only indirectly because neither of my parents listened to modern music, my friends barely cared about music, and I didn't seek it out on my own. I vaguely knew of it because it was so omnipresent but had no idea of its title or who it was by. I can still remember seeing a youtube video of its brief parodied use in the Simpsons, which I didn't watch either...no idea how I found that on Youtube several years ago.
We Are Young...well, I can say I heard it on WFNX before it started showing up in tons of commercials (also, WFNX overplays the shit out of everything), and it was interesting the first time, and it's still sort of stuck in my head, but I don't love it. Not really my style of song, I guess? Also, very repetitive...well, a lot of stuff is, but this is different...
Just heard "We Are Young" today. Dear God it sucked.
It's been the #1 song in America for about 14 weeks straight.

Somehow I've read two different stories about how We Are Young was created, one that it was a re-purposed Kanye West track (for Watch the Throne, even), the other that it was a re-purposed Beyonce track. Weird.
IIRC it's produced by Jeff Bhasker, who I think's done work for both artists.
"We Are Young" is not nearly as unbearable as "Tubthumping." Not that I really want to listen to either song.
At least, if "We Are Young" is the song I think it is.
I must be thinking of a different Tubthumping as the one I'm thinking of I enjoyed
I listened to We Are Young yesterday and found it shit. Tubthumping sucks too, but not as much.
