You need to get rid of it as quickly as possible. The one I had on my thigh turned out to be caused by follicle inflammation, and I procrastinated doing something about it until it changed color and started to hurt real badly. There was a tiny chunk of rotten flesh underneath, possibly a gangrene in development, but I scratched it off with a knife. If it hurts, it might be dangerous.
