Numbers Stations - Mysterious Radio Signals
Some of you might have heard of the so called "numbers stations". For already seventy years, it was being noted that, if you adjust your radio to certain shortwave frequencies, you might be able to hear strange things such as Morse code or male, female and even child voices reading strings of numbers and letters in many different languages, all of them very rigidly scheduled. Those frequencies usually use obscure radio stations as a cover, and it is extremely hard to track them down. There are several different theories on what is their actual purpose, but the most plausible one is that it is being used for espionage, intelligence sharing and illegal trade.
Well, there is an internet archive with a collection of 150 such transmissions. It is definitely something worth listening to, and some of the transmissions are incredibly bizarre, distorted and terrifying.

Oh god I came across this stuff like three years ago and I was fascinated by it.
This one was always one of my favorites; the creepy music then a pre-recorded little girl's voice reciting numbers.
I'm quite amazed that two of the transmissions are in Serbian. Having listened to the entire collection, I have to say that one of them is among the most terrifying. Listen to this. You won't be able to sleep at night.
