I used to be pretty "good at that" on TVT. It sometimes would happen elsewhere too.
It always tends to be the few threads that interest me, too.

So is this where we all start posting, stating we will kill the thread, but we all prefer to one up each other for no real reason?
^which derails it, effectively killing it. But in all seriousness, this is very common.
For example, sometimes I take a long time to write a thoughtful post, but in the meantime the remaining six other people who were planning to post posted short replies. Then no one responds, and I wonder, did anyone actually read my response? Did everyone decide that my comment should be the last word? Or did what I say cause everyone to give up on the thread? Or did I just post so late the other posters felt the thread was no longer relevant?
