I want someone to explain to me why I'm walking in 95+ degree heat to get two cups of coffee for my mom. Really. I'd love some explanation.

Because you are expendable in the case of heat exhaustion?

    Caffeine mainly.

Caffeine addiction is a real thing. People get hooked on that stuff, dependent on it to stay up sometimes.

Because coffee is delicious and you are a tool.

Coffee is a repulsive disgusting toxic sludge that pales to the varied and delicious flavors and smells of tea.

Mousa is so very very right.

Let's not turn this into a coffee vs tea war.

    We would win.
  • Fruit juice is better than both anyway.

    Get her energy drinks instead.
They're cool, contain caffiene... and taste miles better.

In fact I'd go so far as to say taste-wise:

Relentless > Red Bull > Rockstar > Monster >>>>> White Coffee > Black Coffee >>> Espresso >>>>>>>>>>>> Tea.

... But then who the fuck drinks tea anyway? Lawlz  ^_^

I drink tea. So do many people in Africa. And It's a stereotype for the English to drink tea. Which they got form the Indians. There's also tons of Oriental people known for, oh what's this, Green tea among others?

The real question is who in their right mind drinks coffee.

I'm sure it is a false stereotype..... at some level.
I've seen hundreds of people here drinking coffee... but those I've seen drinking tea I could count on one hand.

Then again, maybe London is different to the rest of the country, despite what TVT would have us believe.

Either way it doesn't bother me. I drink this:

(And I drink it because it tastes good... NOT because it now has Edgar Allen Poe quotes on it, pictures of phrenology on the can and an absurdly gothic font-face.)
  • I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.
^ I bought relentless once purely for the design on the can :D
I was looking for energy drinks though, so it wasn't that impulsive.
  • What the fuck.

We don't get awesome shit like that in the US.

    Also, Coffee>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tea
  • Writer, Artist, Obscure.
    Tea>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Coffee

Fix'd that for ya. Don't go makin' mistakes like that again Chagen. We're watching you.
  • $80+ per session
What are you talking about Chagen? US has hundreds of energy drinks like that.
  • I was saying that tea was better than coffee...
  • Not just like that. US energy drinks are demonstrably inferior.

Just like Tea and Coffee are both inferior to them in turn.

(And like Tea is inferior to Coffee).

Chagen,  this: ">"  means the thing on the left is of greater value than the thing on the right. Retake math.
  • ~♥YES♥~! I *AM* a ~♥cupcake♥~! ^_^
Coffee is fantastic... but ONLY if it's black. Black coffee is the way it's meant to be.

    Even in high temperatures, CO-FF-EE!

  • a little muffled
Coffee is gross, or at least it tasted gross the couple times I've had it.

    Tea is good stuff.

How does one even interpret > as left = lesser in this context anyway? I mean it looks like an arrow looking for a target, and Chagen's target wasn't the thing he wanted to hit (the lesser target).

THE ALLIGATOR EATS THE BIGGER NUMBER
  • Adults have become convinced that they need coffee in the morning to be alert and functioning. It's like a crutch they can lean on. They lack the mental discipline to immediately rise out of bed. The body is fully capable of doing it, but they're convinced that 'age has made them to tired to do it' which is totally false, seeing how anyone young suffers from the same morning tiredness.
  • Also I recall reading somewhere that people do coffee enemas.

    More proof it is shit.
  • $80+ per session
    I just like the taste.
  • You can change. You can.
@Commando Dude: It's not a need, but it ''is'' damn helpful.

Anyway, I'm Colombian. I have some of the best coffee of the world right on my kitchen. And we also import some of the finest tea ever. And apart from Earl Grey's, tea sucks.

If you need coffee to stay awake, you probably aren't addicted: the effects coffee has on drowsiness aren't there while addicted.

I've drank less coffee as of late, tho.

Also, ^^ this and ^ this.

    RE-ANIMATOR
Firstly... the main reason energy drinks are better than coffee is that coffee is too hot.  In that regard, White Coffee is better than Black Coffee... but only because it is generally cooler. To be quite honest, I've found that provided I don't overdilute, just adding ice-cubes helps too.

Secondly...  ">" means "greater than" except where the article on the left refers to the late Steve Irwin... in which case, since Steve Irwin is wrestling the alligator from behind, its meaning is pretty obviously reversed.
As such, I vote that "greater than YOUR greater than" should be referred to with a picture of Steve Irwin.... instead of just using lots of cannibal alligators.

Thirdly... energy drinks don't wake me up. Coffee doesn't wake me up either. I just drink one or two cans of Relentless per day without really thinking about it. Just because... well.... because I do it, and it tastes good, and if I don't have it I get really antsy.

Not necessarily so. And in fact, cold coffee is a thing. A delicious enjoyable sexy thing.
