Forgetting almost everything I learned in high school.

I completely wasted 4 years of my life and let down my teachers. I wish I stole more textbooks just so I could refresh my memory. (No more threads, I promise)

I remember when my AP US History told us about how she studied her butt off to pass her classes, and that she couldn't remember a single of word of the material now.

She said this was a perfectly normal thing that should remain unchanged, too.
  • There has has to be something you've learned that you can remember. Maybe your memory would be jogged if you did some review.

    RNA is a single strand.

A corporation is owned by shareholders.

document.write() prints numbers and strings in JavaScript.

JavaScript on a dual core processor draws slower than a 286 game coded in assembly.

You will never have a good relationship of any kind if you don't take about your issues.

History classes try too hard to tie the world together with neat little vocabulary words that students can easily digest and memorize. Biology did the same thing with phrases ("the powerhouse of the cell").

    That's about it.

    Well, that's something, innit?

^^ I tried making a raycasting engine (Think Wolfenstein 3D) entirely in JavaScript on a school computer. I precomputed every possible math operation, made every optimization I could, but the actual drawing was so slow that the game could not cast more than 60 rays and remain playable. Basically, my game ran at a resolution of 60x720.

    Wolfenstein 3D can cast 320.

You're not exactly missing much. Much of the stuff I know about social studies I learned on my own time outside of class, and university physics makes high school physics look like child's play. High school is only good for teaching you the basics.
  • To be fair, Inkblot, Wolfenstein 3D was written by John Carmack, who I believe has mutant code optimization powers.  Before Carmack, it was believed that PCs did not have the computing power to do smooth scrolling a la Super Mario Bros.

Also, Javascript is faster now, at least on Chrome, because of V8.

Thanks. I'll remember to pour vegetable juice on my computer next time I start a JavaScript project.
  • Yeah, it's not like any of it is worthwhile anyway.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I graduated two days ago, and I've already forgotten almost everything.
