Be specific, there are like 5 in Wiki talk alone.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
Also, lol overreactions. I wonder what some of them would have to say about TVTropes if they never encountered the web series.
  • I remember when TVTropes held a major superiority complex over the rest of the Internet.
  • You can change. You can.
^ I think the tenses are a bit wrong there...
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
At least we're not Something Awful in terms of braggadosity.
  • You can change. You can.
Depends on where you go/talk to people.

I do prefer TvT, but I don't think it's automatically superior to everything as some of the forumites seem to think.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
There's stupidity on every website. TVTropes just happens to have the "excessive fandoms" type.
  • You can change. You can.
Well, yeah, I wouldn't imply otherwise. -shrug-

My real problem anyway is how many of the supporters of This Troper/SA seem to...I dunno, be annoying and illogical, I guess?

When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
Perhaps the same could be said of all the Internet.

Of course, I guess there are points each side can see (Troper Tales is creepy/Liking anime isn't horrible).
  • You can change. You can.
Yeah, that's my problem, that both sides are not using logic so much as generalizing and strawmanning each other.

Yes, I know how hypocritical this post is.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
Yeah, it's not ever good to generalize. Everybody who does it is stupid and wrong.
  • You can change. You can.
And strawmanners are the worse: "LOL, LOOK AT MY IMPRESSION OF YOU THIS IS WO YOU ARE HURR DURR"
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
I know. They should all be burnt in an effigy, the lot of them. Whoever has used a strawman argument, ever, should do this, since they were all always wrong about everything.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.

Stop strawmanning me, Forzare. God, you always seem to strawman. Meaning that all of your opinions are wrong.
  • You can change. You can.
^Inoright? Stupid Forzare. Even your right opinions are wrong.
  • We Played Some Open Chords and Rejoiced, For the Earth Had Circled the Sun Yet Another Year
If I never hear the word 'strawman' again, it'll be too soon.

  • You can change. You can.
There's a wonderful meme out there. Three words, involve sunglasses. Can you tell me what it is?

three words? How about:  NO ONE CARES!

People say that there's bad on every forum and they're right, but I have yet to see any other forum besides TV Tropes have people talk about how they totally 'pwnd' the bullies by using a badass creed or how they want to fuck their sister or their whole 'no one likes me so I'm asexual' thing.

Or rather, I've never seen a site that has people like that that doesn't allow others to mock them for it.  Besides TV tropes

    Every site has bad.

TVTropes just has a unique flavor of bad.

And I've never seen a site so vitriolic to nearly anything and everything that doesn't fit preconscribed notions of "Internet cool" whilst simultaneously being morons as Something Awful.

See, it's not honest to shove all of a website into the descriptors of one part of said website. Besides, TVTropes has bigger problems than that.

    ^ This, basically.

Yet one of the many things that TV Tropes has going for it, I suppose.

three words? How about:  NO ONE CARES!

    One: It's deal with it.

Two: Curiously enough, it really applies to your post as well.

YO YO YO U CAN'T C ME BOUT TO SPIT SUMTIN' STOOPID!
^ ^ ^The difference is Something Awful is consistently funny.

TV Tropes idea of humor usually has people mishmashing memes together, referencing Gurren Lagann, overusing the words 'epic' 'win' and 'fail'.  And filling a page for what will most likely be a pile of caca when only a minute long trailer for it came out.

^ ^ How old is this meme? Was I blessed with the luck of never discovering it until now?

Wow, I wonder what minute-long trailer you could be referring to. Also

Also, Something Awful has forums that hide behind a comedy website. Of course it's funnier than TVTropes.

^ ^ ^The difference is Something Awful tends to be funny.

It tends to be funny for people who...I honestly don't know. I just know that I have never been amused by them. Or by any internet show (I'll never like a chip/Ironicus LP), for that matter, but let's not go there. Let's get to the real problem in your post.

TV Tropes just has people mishmashing memes together, referencing Gurren Lagann, overusing the words 'epic' 'win' and 'fail'.  And filling a page for what will most likely be a pile of caca when only a minute long trailer for it came out.

    One: Yay, generalizations

Two: There are far more references to Buffy/Firefly than GL

Three: Epic is almost always removed on sight by editors like me unless I consider it necessary for it to stay.

Four: Whatever the TGWTG fandom crimes are, they hardly fall to the whole freaking place's fault.

TvT's like a sandbox wiki. We allow many, many things slide as long as they catalogue tropes and conventions. I've yet to check the trailer and correct the article, but if the tropes fit, they stay. We don't worry about the quality of the show, because it is not important. A badly written romance story is still a romance story.

I just know that I have never been amused by them.

Hopefully you do not mean Retsupurae, because if you do then I must rescind my respect for you.

    ^ ^Well that's admirable regarding the epic thing....I think.

Though regarding the buffy and firefly references, I was just giving GL as an example.  Shockingly enough I really didn't watch Buffy or Firefly, I may have caught an episode or two if they were on,  hell I watched and knew more about Angel than I did Buffy (except that I didn't know it was related to Buffy) so I wouldn't know many of the references outside of the blatant ones.

I'm not generalizing, I know there's smart tropers on the site but they're usually overshadowed by the sperging of stupid fandoms.

Keep in mind I enjoy Gurren Lagann, but its fandom needs to take some paxil.

And I need to remember how to spell.
