Maybe things are different for you, but this is the scenario with my family.

One person sets up the entertainment system. Everyone comes in one after the other as they prepare, check to see who else is watching, get food, etc.

Now, sometimes this can take up to around 10 minutes.

Sometimes the DVD menu has a music loop playing that lasts less than a minute.

So...

  • AHHHH the damn music. Mute button is your friend.
  • The first time my mother and I watched Mean Girls (insert joke here), the DVD player remote broke halfway through, meaning that after the movie we had to sit through the same freaking lines of the same freaking song for like 15 minutes until we could figure out how to get the disc out without the remote.

(This DVD player didn't have a normal "open/close" button on it, and it was hooked directly to surround-sound speakers, so turning off the TV didn't help.)
  • I listened to the DVD loop on the Touhou OVAs.

Holy crap I never got so sick of the Scarlet Sorrow loop.
