Batman/Buffy/Discworld/Gundam/Megaman is so overrated. I personally do not like, Batman/Buffy/Discworld/Gundam/Megaman, so no one else should either. I hate how the drooling  Batman/Buffy/Discworld/Gundam/Megaman fanboys get so angry when I try to delete examples or add 50 new entries to the  Batman/Buffy/Discworld/Gundam/Megaman DMOS page. Stop obsessing over  Batman/Buffy/Discworld/Gundam/Megaman you geeks.

    Not really. Site was always about tropes. The idea of the site and discussing tropes came from Buffy fans, yes, but never forget that everything else was first and foremost about tropes.

    I'll agree that Gundam is overrated, it's not consistently good.  Apparently Gundam Wing was pretty lousy, but since it was the first Gundam series I watched I can't really hate it.  Gundam SeeD and Destiny were fucking terrible and I'll never understand why outside of the mobile suit designs people like it  It's so fucking boring, the animation is so lazy that half the fights consist of a mobile suit in a single frame of animation (with the occasional animation loop for jetboosts) firing a gun, they just tween the single frame across the scene.
    The Astray manga was good though.

    I'll take some Macross over Gundam any day.  Macross was able to make 3d animation look good both normally and on a budget and it's still got some of the best animation today.

    If the people are poorly animated because they're saving the budget for the robot fights, I'm not complaining.

    Well, yes, the original Gundam had terrible animation too.

    But I wasn't holding up Hikaru there as an example of Macross's awful animation anyway; I use that reaction image all the time. His face is kinda derpy, but there's much worse.

    But come on, you're telling me the animation wasn't at least consistent in quality for Macross, 7, and especially Plus; and that the 3d in Frontier and Zero isn't leaps and bounds beyond your standard anime that uses 3d?

    ^^See I can understand why someone couldn't stand macross, I'll never understand how a pop-singer makes an army more effective by performing live via holoprojection while they fight either.  Personally I think it's pretty stupid.  But overlooking that one thing I can otherwise enjoy Macross.

    and I like Gundam too but there are times where it just doesn't feel interesting.  Like Gundam SeeD

    I know, I know. I just haven't felt like watching anime lately. (Mind you I got it for Christmas so that's no real excuse...)

    It is on the list of things to do come summer.
