Random Complaint: Some idiot put up an incorrect sign here!
    US 3 in Ohio?

Better random complaint: I don't actually have anything to randomly complain about.
  • Random complaint:

People who let their dogs poop all over their front lawn and don't bother to clean it up or anything.

FFS IT'S THE MIDDLE OF WINTER. EVERYONE CAN SEE YOUR TURD-STUDDED YARD.
  • I'd think the dogs would run away, even though this is beside the point.

I just installed a fan-made instant messenger program. Looks pretty sweet, but I don't know if I'll convince anyone to use it with me, though.

Maybe some of my old internet buddies would. Two of them are Homestuck fans last I checked.

I'll try tomorrow, though. I need to get my homework out of the way.
  • you people aren't posting enough
  • Is that an observation or a Random Complaint?
  • It's both.

Also you peoples aren't posting in that thread I made.

    Fuuuuck.

My roommate cooks and frequently brings over guests, so a majority of the food that gets consumed is his responsibility. Besides that he also eats more than me.

So, it's my family's turn to do make a Costco run. I ask for a list of some things we need, and he sends a pretty big list. My mom knew about the situation and was hesitant about going 50/50 with this when a good part of the food goes to company that I don't even really know. He talks to me later, and I mention that it's a big list and it might not all get bought. He gets a little pushy about it, and even mentions the dollar amount that his parents spent on this last time. I didn't like the confrontation, and I was trying to imply that it wasn't really my decision.

And after I mentioned that this happened to my mom, she reminded me that she told me not to get into this. Which she did, but I thought it would be best to be a little more frank about things if it's a potential issue.

I'm sure I didn't do anything that put me in the wrong here, but it still makes me feel uncomfortable.

  • Hey, it's this thread!

I have good news: That incorrect US 3 sign I posted the picture of way up in the second post has since been removed. A correct State Route 3 sign remains on the opposite corner.
  • Hey, I've got a pretty bad complaint.  See, I've been working on this pseudo-fanfic where everyone teams up and tortures me for three posts now, but I'm not sure how to actually translate the epic torture I've been building up to into a coherent story.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
You could leave it as Noodle Implements and leave it to the reader to figure out the details of what's happening.
  • Hmm, that could work!  It would kind of conflict with the whole "tell a story by having pictures say things" though.  Maybe I could link to a bunch of weird sound effects, like buzz saws and electric currents or something.
  • edited 2011-02-11 00:04:48
You just need to create little 50x50 images of the various would-be torture implements, of course.
  • Great idea!  But how can I do that?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I use a program called Fast Stone to crop/resize. It's free, I believe.
  • Not a bad idea.  Do you know where I can find it?

    You should just get GIMP.

It does cropping, resizing, and just about anything Photoshop can do as well.

^Gimp has a learning curve, though. Faststone really doesn't.

FastStone seems a lot more efficient for what random would need it for, GMH.

Though, getting GIMP anyway isn't a bad idea.

The resize function is pretty easy to use, and the crop function works by selecting your area and then choosing crop to selection.  Both of these functions are in the image window's menus.

And I'm a sucky GIMP newbie saying this.

Central Avenue: How is that sign incorrect?
  • edited 2011-02-11 00:59:14
It should be Ohio Route 3, not U.S. Route 3.

For some reason they had that sign on that corner, but on the opposite corner (just out of the photo to the left) there's a correct sign pointing the same direction.

(Also I didn't realize till just now that I didn't explain in my original post why that sign was wrong. D'oh!)

    Oh.

I thought you were complaining about the typography or layout.
  • Well, it's ugly too, how it's all one piece on a black background like that, but that's how the City of Columbus does all their route markers now, so it never occurred to me to complain about that.
  • What the hell is the noise at the end of "Bad Taste Aquarium" (Sonic Adventure, 1st song for Hot Shelter)?
  • It Just Bugs Me that we don't have a -tan yet.
