Some of the nipticks are that there is no rape (except for statutory rape), I don't think it was stated that Pico was looking for a boyfriend, Tomatsu doesn't die (he does go AWOL after the first episode, though), etc...

As for why I liked Boku no Pico, apart from the whole arousal thing, it's actually a fairly light and positive series, all things considered. The kind of stuff that gets put under "happy_sex" in the *boorus. If you can get past the ages of the characters, which are after all imaginary people, it ends up being pretty cute.
First of all, sever the peadophilia/mass murder connection for a second, it's not doing any favours.
The answer is, it depends on the FPS. Does a nerf gun war with your friends count as fantasising mass murder? Any sane person would say no, it doesn't. The idea is just to hit your mates with foam darts to put them out of the game, and it only resembles combat on a purely metaphorical level. Playing say, Call of Duty resembles combat a lot closer, and being a situation of war, killing other people is sort of the point of the situation. I feel it paints a slightly childish picture of war sometimes, but that's another discussion altogether. Really, I'm still internally wondering how much violence in media does affect people, likewise for sex. I won't be able to give a definitive answer for either issue, because I'm not sure anyone can.
Anyway, I'm starting to feel like a shit for carrying on arguing against this show, since I don't really feel strongly sickened by other people's choices of porn so long as everyone involved in its production consented to it. I didn't mean to sound like one of those guys, although I know I already have. I'd like to apologise for being so antagonistic and just kinda sniping you back there without making any proper arguaments.
Okay, so in general I'm iffy towards porn in general, so I might be biased. I feel like being addicted to internet porn fucked me up as a kid, and I didn't actually kick the habit completely until about late 2009. But around 2006 and so, looking back, I realised I actually had a pretty warped view of what women were really like back then, even though I knew plenty of women in real life. Almost all porn seems to be presented in a fairly selfish way inherently, and I don't think it's possible to really remove this aspect without it not being porn anymore.
I guess I mean that sex involves people in a pretty personal way, in a way that shooting targets on a screen doesn't. I don't know, I'm only really talking from experience. Being addicted to porn made most aspects of my life awkward and shameful in a way that playing war games didn't, and I personally don't know why. As for why porn was shameful, I think it has more to do with the way it fed my insecurities, rather than anything to do with the way society views sex as shameful. Even in a society where it was the norm, I don't know if I'd still feel like I wasn't just looking at porn for selfish reasons rather than as a way of connecting with somebody.
Aaand... I guess I've revealed more about myself than I thought, and my points will probably just get shot down, but I guess that's kind of the point of discussion, right? *send* REGRET REGRET REGRET
