When I've completed a game I feel little replay motive

Because I've already seen everything.

  • I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.
I agree, especially one where I've done the majority of exploring.

The only factor against this is an RPG system with classes/things you can't have in one play-through.
  • Master Guardian of the Passive Voice
I like to rewatch movies, so I don't have this issue with cutscene-driven games.
  • no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
I usually don't replay games within a year of beating them, but I've made exceptions for Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 lately.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
It works for games like Super Mario Galaxy 2, though, because aiming for 100% completion allows you to do a lot of stuff you haven't gotten to yet.
  • Play games that have tons of post-story content.

I'm 300 hours in Disgaea 3, and I still haven't got everything. Then again, I lost it, so it's not like I can work on that....
  • I'm this way about almost all of my games, no matter how great they are. It sucks.
  • no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
It just means you haven't found That One Glorious Game yet.

Just keep looking. Some day, you will.

Which is probably why I was interested in D&D, and other tabletop RP systems.  It's because the possible experiences are practically endless.

Eh, I'd rather have any video game over a Tabletop RP.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
  • But you never had any to begin with.
This is exactly the reason I haven't fought either bonus boss of FFIV DS yet.

The opposite is true for me. I'll replay most games and I loved MGS3, but I never, ever want to play it again.
  • Personally, I used to like the idea of bonus bosses, but now, I feel they are too often haphazardly shoehorned into the game for the sake of a challenge (especially in an otherwise easy game).

I find short games more replayable than long games because they require less commitment to restart. That and I like to play such games until I've mastered them, such as with Bit.Trip and its PERFECT! acknowledgement.
