    Well, before everyone forgot that the genre existed before DotA, they really were usually called AoSes (after Aeon of Strife, the first StarCraft map of that style) so it wouldn't be without precedent.


    But frankly most video game genres have stupid names so who even cares? I remember kids at school claiming literally every game was an RPG because "you play a role in it".
