Specifically, how we're having military intervention in Libya, supposedly to protect civilians there. Meanwhile, there's a bloody civil war in the Ivory Coast, and we're doing nothing.

As much as I like Obama's energy policies, I do dislike how he flat-out lies by saying we're in it for anything but the oil.

    Uh, your statement is incorrect because we are in this for AT LEAST one other thing than the oil--that being helping to remove a jackass from power.

    Whether that's justified is another matter, but your statement is still wrong.

    Also, not doing something about A2 doesn't mean that something shouldn't be done about the very similar A1.

    Also, the reformists are doing better in Ivory Coast IIRC, from reading our main site's megathread on this topic.

    The silver lining to this energy crunch is that people are actually finding ways to reduce their energy use by increasing efficiency.

    Also, I'm pretty sure that Obama doesn't mind nuclear power that much.  Though that's kinda being put on hold in the wake of the disaster in Japan...

    And the thing with coal is not so much that it's a good idea than it is that it's politically unfeasible to ignore coal.  I practically KNOW that he wants to see carbon sequestration go along with any coal plan, in the bottom of his heart.
