Screwing the rules, I see.
It's getting annoying having to block the image every time a new one shows up, since I have to do it via CSS since if I use Adblock, then they won't show up when I save the page.
I can't understand why people are taking this so badly. I thought it was funny. How is this different from Reispin or Katriumph, anyway?
It's not like you didn't have to look at the usernames on that site anyway, what with people changing their avatars regularly, and sharing avatars with one another, and stealing avatars off other people and swapping avatars with one another for the lulz.
This is involuntary.
> still have to look at usernames
No; most people keep their avatars long enough that it's actually pretty useful. Not to mention that usernames have also been messed with in this case.
How does your own choice of avatar help you tell other people apart?
Because an avatar is equivalent to a face on an Internet forum. It gives some insight into what kind of person you are, your preferences, or how you are feeling at a given moment. Even changed avatars often follow some sort of pattern because it is based on a user's personality.
"and sharing avatars with one another, and stealing avatars off other people and swapping avatars with one another for the lulz."
I'll concede that. When people have such similar avatars, it becomes increasingly difficult to tell people apart.
