Shipping (As in pairing characters, not delivering/ordering products)
It can be one of the most bizarre things ever
For example, earlier I felt masochistic and decided to look at a list of ships. One was between Lance and Cynthia of Pokemon. The ship was called WikiErrorShipping, based on an error once on Wikipedia that said Lance and Cynthia are cousins
...Not only is that one of the least substantial reasons for believing two characters would make a great couple, it also hinges on a false belief of the two being cousins
And the worst part is that I know that isn't the most bizarre ship out there. God dammit people, I can understand supporting certain pairings, but that's just pure asspulling right there!
Comments
That's pretty much all there is to say on the matter.
Though I'm pretty sure the Pokemon fan base just likes to make up names for literally every pairing imaginable, no matter how random.
Although...I joined the Homestuck Shipping Olympics, so watch me slowly transform into a crazy rabid shipper as the summer progresses. #thingsthathopefullywontactuallyhappen
IIRC there were like 7 ships on that list that paired Gary Oak with one or both of his hands.
I think the weirdest ship I saw was Golden Sun: Isaac with the roof of his house from the prologue.
I was expecting this to be about ordering stuff online >.>
boo
Hahahahhahahahha
I find shipping to be a fun little game, so long as you don't take it too seriously.
And even then sometimes it can fun to goad the crazier ones or sit by the sidelines and watch Zutara and Kataang threaten bodily harm to each other.
Oh wait. That's not fun at all.
Says the guy that likes psychotic girlfriends threatening people with bodily harm, and they deliver too.
It takes a lot to make me ship a couple, but it can be easily done.
with that said, it's not like i'd fight anyone for Steph/Cass
Not like I have to as only non-existent fools would contradict the canonicity of such a ship
I like Soarin'/Apple Pie.
And by that, I mean Soarin' kidnapping Apple Bloom and Pinkie Pie and...you get the idea.
But but Cable/Deadpool! Phoenix/Edgeworth!
they're not yuri
so they're worthless >
still the best image in the universe
Shipping ruins everything.
That is all.
@ship Crimson/pessimism.
shipping is the fuel of touhou

"I-it's not like I like shipping or anything, b-baka!"
The Anata Baka justifies my hate! And it is with 6 billion arms that I draw the Anti - Shipping Chart.
Admittedly I do think it's weird how people will get into kids shows like Korra or Young Justice and just watch for shipping fuel. I mean is it so much better with that middle man keeping it from being full-blown romance?
For what is worth, I agree with the idea that when writers take shippers (Or fandom, to be honest) into account, it tends to ruin things.
I mean, Korra has Asami, who's boring and plain and Young Justice has this persistent need to throw fanservice (As in, "Things DC nerds love", not the other kind) without considering whether the story is benefitted from doing so in the first place.
I'm pretty sure the only ship I actually like is Batman/Wonder Woman.
I...i actually approve of an alex post
what is...what is this feeling
malk, explain this to me
Icalasari, Pokemon shippers are batshit insane. You should know this already.
Oh fuck, you just had to get the creepy Care Bears girl avatar. AAAGH.
i'm going to stay up till 1 and post things out of nowhere just to creep the shit out of all of you
