Because Platinum Games Made Bayonetta as well as this game.
And it's a Pseudo Sequel to MadWorld.
@Saigyouji: I think DGOC just really likes Platinum Games's stuff. I haven't played any of it so I can't say much.
They were also known as Clover Studios before Capcom pulled the plug. They made things such as Viewtiful Joe and Okami.
That would explain why I've heard of Okami and Bayonetta mentioned together.

I missed out on MadWorld, maybe I should play it later.
If anything, both games look like over the top fun.
The thing about MadWorld is, while it was more or less fun, amusing and a decent game, it ultimately didn't provide much variety. You pretty much had the entire mechanical experience at your disposal during the beginning of the game and nothing in the game (barring some bosses) required a different application of those mechanics. It was also extremely short.
