Does knowing about them decrease their effect on you, or is that another cognitive bias?

Well, I'm more aware of when they are being used, sure but I don't know if theres been a decrease.

I am aware of mine. It doesn't help
I guess it might make you less susceptible to them, if you catch yourself before you fall into the trap. But catching yourself can be pretty difficult.
