A 6 year old boy caught playing doctor is now charged with sexual assault

The boy is now traumatized, having anxiety, vomiting, being depressed, crying, and suffering from a lack of sleep, all because the officials (related to the girl) are too stupid to realize that sexually assaulting the girl was not on his mind

I thought there were fucking LAWS that prevent kids from being brought to court!? Oh, wait, because these guys are officials they probably pulled some strings

Those officials should be hung out to dry and made to pay for the boys therapy (because he WILL need therapy) and be forced to give a public apology and be forced to admit that they are fucking morons!

Gah! I want to fly down there and beat the crap out of those people! Maybe then some sense will be knocked into them!

Just...

  • Playing doctor? 0_o I was weirded out when I found out what that means, I never did that when I was little...

At the same time though, Haldo, does a 6 year old boy deserve to be traumatized over this?
  • I stand on Grendel's shoulders
Okay, now that's just absolutely awful. That boy only needed to be told that it's not okay to go around touching other people's butts. For god's sake, he was only 6 years old!

The new federal lawsuit contends the whole investigation was biased
because the girl's father is a "well-known political figure in Grant
County," and her aunt a regional social services supervisor.

This is just wrong. I bet if these people didn't have these jobs this never would have happened.
  • @Icala Heck no, that's just wrong.
  • They're somethin' else.
I'd facepalm right now, but I know i'll only give myself a concussion.
  • "The girl's parents told the paper that they tried to work things out privately but that D's parents did not provide that opportunity."

I find that weird. If it upset them that much, they could just stop letting them have play dates and it wouldn't happen again. From what they're doing now, it seems like they're just out for blood.

It really seems like some people don't know that problems can be solved without getting the law involved.

And now people on another forum (not going to name it in case it causes drama) are calling people hypocrites for decrying the boy being charged in this case yet wanting two eleven year old girls who a while back stripped and humiliated a boy against his will charged

    ...*headdesk*

^ "(not going to name it in case it causes drama)"
  • Then what's the point? Seriously, I don't get what you're trying to say. Is the invocation of tu quoque the issue or is it people wanting the girls charged? Because it seems like the hypocrisy is valid, but they are ignoring that the latter case was deliberate rather than naive.

^ Yeah, the head desking was over the fact that somebody would try to call out people on this despite one case being malicious and the other being innocent (I'd also bring up maturity - Those girls clearly knew the implications. This boy and the girl however wouldn't have any idea that this could be seen as harmful)
  • It's that classic fallacy again, you support one case but oppose another case, therefore your arguments are automatically wrong. There isn't a time when that never happens.

^ What's the name of the fallacy?

^ Oh, I thought you typo'd in that one post
  • I had a few instances in my youth were we played doctor before getting bored and firing up the SNES, probably around the same age. Kids don't understand this sort of stuff, and if you want to protect the innocence of your child obviously the best step is to turn it into a full-blown lolsuit and media spectacle.

    Has friends besides tanks now
I never played doctor, but I'm glad for that, since the person I usually hung out with after school was my cousin. I was surprised to learn that that was what this euphemism meant the entire time.
  • I'll be honest, I don't expect any better from Wisconsin, but that didn't stop this news from ruining my day. Why some people feel they have to be vindictive toward young children, I'll never understand.

There's a big difference between six and eleven.

Also, we have no idea if the girl objected to what the boy did because the article doesn't mention it.

In the case of the eleven year old girls assaulting the boy, they deliberately did it to humiliate and traumatize him. Here, it appears that the 6 year old boy was using play as a way to explore what had happened to him the day prior, and did not have any idea that sticking your finger in somebody's butt was wrong. He, after all, had his butt explored by his doctor just a day prior.
  • ...What the hell is this horseshit?
  • Stupidity Legionnare, Stupidity.
  • I hope the boy's parents win that lawsuit. If you don't listen to words, you'll listen to your wallet.
