  I've often wondered why music was so appealing to humanity. I wonder if it has anything to do with rhythm helping an ancestral ability to coordinate in groups.

  I might be biased here, but I'm not so sure that there's much that language can't communicate that non-verbal art can. I'm certain that there are some things that are communicated more effectively with art, on the other hand.
