Bad GMs

CRIMINAL SCUM!
The kind that fucking GET OFF on treating their players like crap. LOVE their GMPCs. And LOOOOOVE showing off their 'awesome' GMPCs in THEIR game that we plebeians should all be honored get to roleplay with.

And then, when the players revolt and say they're going to continue the story without them, delete ALL the backround material they can to prevent the players from doing so.

*thinks of a very specific GM*

Gah. My main problem is that I sometimes railroad. Glad I'm not like THAT!

    I know, fuck those guys!

Everyone should be treated equally horribly, GMPCs included! D:<

^ Reminds me of an rp where we were capturing god like creatures (a Pokemon RP (It was the first RP I ran so I thought allowing people to capture gods was a good idea give me a break. Good thing nobody even considered the havoc they could cause...)). It was a series. First one a player got. Second one I got. I set up a dice roll system and everything, even giving my PC a penalty. I think I had to show them the numbers to show that I didn't bullshit that one
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    > bad GM's

    ;-;

    > a specific type

    I'm set then.

^ What type are you? :D?
  • On my first ever roleplay, our GM totally godmodded my ass all over the battlefield.

Sure >I< was sort of god modding too, by controlling a ton of overpowered NPCs that I made up to help me. But it was my first roleplay ever and I didn't know better. Did the GM really have to curbstomp me?
  • No rainbow star
^ Yes. Yes he did. It's the only way you would learn

...Aw dammit. I could have let her keep her character then had a god come and curbstomp her to teach her a lesson >.<

    CRIMINAL SCUM!
Did I mention that I didn't know any better? Oh, I did.

Yeah, maybe if someone had said "Hey dude, you're really godmodding, players can't make up a bunch of NPCs like that" everything would have been fine.

^ Oh. I thought he gave you a warning first. Sorry for assuming

^ What type are you? :D?

The inactive one who sucks at planning.

^ Planning? What kind of shit is that?

    >.> <.<
  • ^^ Don't you have all four of our seasons planned out?
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
In too much detail, allowing too little leeway.
  • You're not going to start placing landminds beside the rails, are you?
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Yes. And poison vipers.

^ Eh. It's nothing until you make orbital laser cannons have a 50% chance of firing and hitting the players every mile they travel
  • Well if there's one thing that Metal Gear has taught me, it's use a mine detector.

And anything labelled "antidote" will cure any poisons I have.
  • My problem would be "Paranoidly plan for every possible thing the players could do, leading to Note Hell and having a ridiculously complicated plot that 99% of won't be used anyway."
  • No rainbow star
^ With them still coming up with things you didn't plan for :D
  • You can change. You can.
My problem as a GM is "I don't give a fuck about the RP. Now get me that beer, will ya"
  • Harbinger of thread and forum death
My problem as a GM: I've never been a GM
  • But you never had any to begin with.
Most of what I've GMed is Paranoia games. So the main concern of the players was stuff like not getting eaten by giant radioactive cockroaches, or standing in a hallway above their security clearance, which I "accidentally" forgot to tell them the colour of.
