That those Republican state senators in Wisconsin haven't been recalled yet

But the recall general elections in six state senate districts happen tomorrow!

Do you live in Wisconsin?  Do you know someone who lives in Wisconsin?  If so, you or your friend may be in a state senate district with a Republican state senator.  There are eight such districts and six of them are having recall elections tomorrow.  If any of the names Cowles, Darling, Hopper, Kapanke, Harsdorf, and Olsen sound familiar, then you just might.

Go vote to recall them from office tomorrow!  Vote to replace them with their opponents!

IJBM: Now a board for evangelizing your political beliefs.
  • kind of seems like a lose-lose to me. Theocratic Fascism or Leninist Socialism. I hate the two party system.

@Hatter: Ain't no rule against it.  Feel free to do it yourself.  Just file them correctly, in "politics".
  • I'm a damn twisted person
Personally I find it refreshing that people are occasionally bothered by shit in real life that actually matters, as opposed to the standard internet drama, arguments about fiction that could be stymied with a quote from the Big Lebowski and social flailings IJBMers are wont to rant about.

GMH - thanks for reminding me. I'll tell my friends in Wisconsin about it. They might not have a chance to vote tomorrow, but a reminder can't hurt.
  • now that's the way to handle poster behavior. Modders and administration need to be more strictly defined however through a system of enumerated powers.
  • Glaives are better.

Is there a way to hide these sorts of threads?

Tnu, that doesn't describe either party. Democrats aren't socialists, and Republicans aren't fascists.

  • Wisconsin is kind of a shit state to me right now, from what I've heard from the past few months. Fucking Walker, how did people elect him to be governor if he doesn't represent the people of Wisconsin?
  • i don't care for party pollitics myself i'll vote a Democrat like Mike Gravel or a Republican like Ron Paul in. Parties are incredibly misleading. Look at Democrats and Republicans a few decades ago Democrats were about Fiscal Conservatism and Republicans about Kynsian Growth. Also Bob Barr is more Conservative then Classical liberal like the party is supposed to be.
  • I'm a damn twisted person
Because his campaign managed to motivate the people who identify with him to vote more than the ones who wanted somebody else in office.

    > Modders and administration need to be more strictly defined however through a system of enumerated powers.

...is IJBM a realistic representation of political philosophy in an internet forum?
  • Enumerated powers is the best possible system to use as a measure of keeping things in check instread of having Rules Lawyers going around saying "Technically it doesn't say I can't do this".
  • not sure how everyone can feel at ease or comfortable under that sort of system it seems like it'd just be constantly fearing things just being done without reason  or justification.
  • I'm a damn twisted person
Tnu you're drifting the topic into one of your political/philosophical/paranoia ramblings. Make your own thread for that sort of thing, or start talking about the recall vote in Wisconsin tomorrow.
  • Only somewhat here
Off topic here, but I knew who made this thread before I even blah blah blah.

...oh no, now I'm combining that joke into here.

The right of the people to string long chains of vowels together, shall not be
    infringed.

Excessive John Madden shall not be required, nor excessive footballs imposed, nor cruel and unusual Chinese earthquakes inflicted.
  • What about the 999th, 999th, 999th Amendment?
  • Glaives are better.
    "Thou shalt abhor the mutant?"
  • you can't just go about making amendments haphazerdly there needs to be a system of how it works.
  • Glaives are better.
I don't think IJBM is in danger of becoming a dictatorship.
  • Your first mistake is assuming that it won't. I myself rather err on the side of caution.
  • I'm a damn twisted person
And worst case scenario of IJBM becoming a dictatorship, thumped posts and banned people. On a silly internet forum.

Yeah, that's a real crime against humanity right there.
  • I take internet fora very seriously I have to become engrained in a community which is incredibly hard to do.
  • Glaives are better.

Tnu, the worst thing that can happen is one of the admins goes crazy and starts banning people without reason. Or the owner starts putting up skeevy ads. Or they give away our email addresses and we start getting spam. And if that happens, no "constitution" limiting admin powers is going to prevent it.
