People getting all butthurt about Yahtzee bashing OoT

edited 2011-07-30 13:30:30 in General
Glaives are better.

It's what he does, people. I didn't bitch when he made fun of Halo or Mass Effect. I didn't bitch when he called PC gamers part-time workers at the dick sucking factory. I laughed along with everyone else.

Be like Hatter: don't take Yahtzee too seriously.

  • Oot.

    Order...Omega...uhm...
  • He didn't even say that many bad things about it.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
It's like the One Piece Syndrome.
  • Ocarina Of Time, an entry in the popular Zelda series of videogames, which was recently re-released for the 3DS, much like Super Mario 64's re-release for the DS.
  • Oh.

I haven't seen that one yet. I should go watch it.
  • Glaives are better.
I didn't find it very funny, but that's mainly because I was never a Nintendo fan, and never really played any of the Zelda games.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
So basically what happened when he did Brawl?

Really, I agree with Snowbull. It wasn't as vicious as Yahtzee normally is anyway.
  • All I know is that it started a dumb debate in the ZP thread.
  • " Yes I am saying I am smarter than you when you were twelve."

    Ah Yahtzee.
  • Writer, Artist, Obscure.
Just saw the review. It was funny and the LoZ series is my favoritest game series of all time so I'mma gonna say people are idiots.
  • You can change. You can.
It didn't make me laugh, but that's beause Yathzee doesn't amuse me. Not like I particularly disagree with his review, but still...
  • He really didn't actually rant about the game that much. Most of the stuff he seemed to say seemed to be more about the production around it.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
^^^^That was probably the funniest bit to me.

^Yeah, to me it seemed to more about the evolution of the game series and how it was ruined for him due to the effect of seeing the stuff that built off of it.

I also think Windwaker was a better game, but that's me.

I don't get why people get angry about Yahtzee's opinions and I get angry about the opinions of other people all the time.

Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Because some people see a famous critic attacking something they like and take it personally. Play the opinion card as much as you want, but it DOES sting to have something you like being torn apart like that.
  • They're somethin' else.
lol yahtzee sucks. being one of many on the douche nerd reviewer bandwagon will never change that.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
The Spoony One's been much more vicious towards the entire Zelda series, even making insinuations about the intelligence of the fans but no one ever gets angry at him when he does.

There's something about Yahtzee in particular that causes people's blood to boil. Maybe it's the accent...

    ^Riveting tale, chap.
  • Basically, internet reviewers don't understand why saying "This game is dumb and the people who like it are dumb" and then playing the opinion card doesn't work.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
^^He has TGWTG cred, gives him more protection.
  • To be fair, if there is one thing I learned from my hatred of EGS, its that the second doesn't even need to be said, people will see it.

Some really do say it, but that's not always the case.
  • Actually, Spoony does hate the Zelda series, but he keeps that hatred towards missable text posts and Vlogs. When he actually does do proper reviews of fan-beloved games(read:Final Fantasy VIII and X) he gets quite a bit more hatred.

Yahtzee, on the other hand, does a big game pretty much every week. Also, people get confused into thinking that he has lots of fans who believe his every word because he's pretty much the personification of currently popular internet cynic ways of thinking.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
^^^So Yahtzee's sin is not being on a certain website? Good to keep in mind

^He does have lots of fans. That's why his merch sells and he has a job doing what he does.

Also, any hate Spoony got for FF was a drop in the bucket compared to the shitstorm that happens if Yahtzee makes an off-hand comment about RTSes.
  • I know he has a lot of fans. I just doubt that many of them take his word as the gospel.

Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
It could also be because Yahtzee's a lot more well known and has been around longer.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Probably not. I mean, I enjoy him, and I think he makes good points, but he's hardly right about everything.

^Yahtzee started up in late 2007, which is around the same time Spoony started. He probably is more popular, though.
  • Spoony's entire gimmick isn't hating every game he reviews.

    Mostly.
  • >he's pretty much the personification of currently popular internet cynic ways of thinking.

    I thought that was ED.
  • edited 2011-07-30 14:22:14
And I doubt Phantasmagoria 2 and Clones Of Bruce Lee have many die-hard fans.

    ^Nah, not really.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
What IS Spoony's gimmick anyway? He reviews obscure 80's movies, video games, does the occasional Let's Play, and a bunch of other random crap.
  • He doesn't really have one, actually. He's kind of the FMV guy, but he does lots of other stuff too.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I don't think he really has a gimmick per se, though he has several things I'd call gimmicks like Doctor Insano. None of them are prominent enough to be the show's  selling gimmick. Maybe eighties/nineties cult nostalgia as opposed to NC's mainstream nostalgia?

^^^^^ED tries to hard. Yahtzee's trolling is obviously 10/10.
