MadassAlexI'm also playing games I *didn't* want for Christmas, courtesy of my younger brother! :D Modern Warfare 3 has a pretty good campaign, although there are a lot of things that aren't addressed, especially at the end. I like how the series passively sets up your allies as partially "evil" as well; they use brutal interrogation methods just like one's enemies, or even worse. While this serves to make good commentary on warfare in a passive sense, it's never really discussed or reflected upon. Plus, the ending on serves to tie up the sequence of events. Unlike most works of media, there's no final discussion of the piece at the end. The implications of the story are left as just that -- implications. MillerCrossSantos is that weird case of a conservative president who understands that the world needs change if you wanna keep some of the basics up, such as social security. I like him a lot, he managed to defuse the situation with Venezuela, is actually trying to open up an FTA with the US which is something that Colombia has tried for a long time, and has reduced the whole civil conflict we've had for sity years to a cheap joke. I don't agree with him on education, though. Shit should be free, not private and profitable.2011-10-27 18:13:58

I have to say I understand his point in the article about drugs, as well it isn't really the western countries that are paying the major price for the war on drugs. MillerCrossYes, free trade agreement. And admittedly, the whole reform into privatized education seems more like a desperate measure due to lack of funding and budget rather than an actual belief. MillerCrossIt's quite complicated. We get by, but we own massive amounts of money to different countries and have pretty much relied on the US and Israel to get through the conflict, really. It all comes down to the fact that the government is cared to raise taxes due to the fact that inflation has affected us far harder than expected in the last five years, meaning most people won't be able to pay them while sustaining themselves. Mind you, this is all basical understanding of how things are working out, I'm not entirely knowledgeable about colombia's economics, sadly.2011-10-27 20:42:53
