If you have an email ending in @hotmail.com, @live.com or @outlook.com (or any other Microsoft-related domain), please consider changing it to another email provider; Microsoft decided to instantly block the server's IP, so emails can't be sent to these addresses.
If you use an @yahoo.com email or any related Yahoo services, they have blocked us also due to "user complaints"

What exctly led to you being banned?
^^ Sometimes, though, they're the only way to keep a serial ban-evader out. I believe that was why the admins came up with them in the first place.
Even I think total site bans are pretty harsh except for spam bots or whatever, but I'm afraid it's Eddie's prerogative; there's nothing I can do about that.
^ See, the problem is that directing insults at other users is one of the fundamental "don't"s on TV Tropes. Coming over from another site and making trouble is another. I appreciate that you might not be aware of the rules, which was why I referred you to them.
No worries, I can see why you would have thought that.
>You can voice your opinion, all of you can, if he doesn't want to lose people on his site he'd do something about it.
Heh. You say that, but just try asking for a quote button over there.
>If that's what happened, you can argue for an appeal. Although if you do, don't mention you're from BS.
I think Eddie knows already, though you could point out that you'd been on TV Tropes for a while before you got banned and he might be a bit more understanding.
>if I shared the same IP wouldn't I be banned anyways
Forum bans are by username, not IP.
Never heard of Devils in Hell's Kitchen, sorry.
But yeah, brutal honesty often isn't tolerated, mainly because we have a civility rule. The general principle is that if you can say it, you can say it politely.
(FYI, not a mod, just a long-time user speaking from experience).
The problem is that, in this instance, another site was involved, which raises kind of a big alarm bell. Y'know, we were wondering whether we should be expecting a raid or something.
^^ This Troper is currently making videos about shit teenagers said two years ago in a confessions thread on what was then a much smaller TV Tropes forum, amongst friends.
^ Tongpu hasn't confessed to any IRL crimes. If he did, he'd be out of there in an instant.
However, the site is huge, and we can only edit out what we can see. As a result, creepy stuff like that can go unnoticed for years, particularly on less-visited parts of the wiki like the aforementioned Tales. That's why the best thing to do if you find something like that is to chop it out with a quick, descriptive edit reason (i.e., "Confession to a crime. Also, really disturbing.") so it doesn't fester for others to stumble across it later.
