Hairstyles of primary teen and young-adult female characters in U.S. live-action TV

They're all the same.  Or mostly.  The style is this: wavy hair, roughly shoulder length (or slightly longer), unsecured.

Hair color and sometimes even skin color don't matter.  (Occasionally, black women with very curly hair sport another hairstyle.)

There are very few female characters with shorter hairstyles (such as chin-length or so-called boy cut), nor longer.  The hair is rarely ever straight, either; it's almost invariably slightly wavy, though never outright curly (or in odder patterns like drill curls).  Hair is never secured except for specific tasks, and even then it's usually a ponytail or very occasionally a bun, never pigtails (which are only seen on very young girls, if at all).

  • There is love everywhere, I already know

It's more manageable than most styles? It's more special than straight hair yet less distracting than overly curly hair yet simple enough to do when filming every day?
