    Fun fact - the BBC always refers to "Shia Muslims" now, I think partly to avoid puns on Shi'ite and the potential offence they cause.


    I remember an obscure sitcom in the 80s called (I think) Help! where one character mentioned another possibly being kidnapped by "Shite (sic) Muslims" several times. You wouldn't get that joke on TV now. Some would probably call that #creepingsharia.
