If you have an email ending in @hotmail.com, @live.com or @outlook.com (or any other Microsoft-related domain), please consider changing it to another email provider; Microsoft decided to instantly block the server's IP, so emails can't be sent to these addresses.
If you use an @yahoo.com email or any related Yahoo services, they have blocked us also due to "user complaints"

the @ is used by twitter to mean one thing and IRC to mean another
Though actually, this is a rather easy problem to solve.
FYI: the @ symbol is sometime used, especially in more text-based IRC clients, to indicate that a user has channel operator status. Some people, when talking directly to people on IRC, will include the @.
However, it is used on twitter to mean a message directed at someone. This is probably the more common usage by this point, as a similar notation is sometimes used on forums to direct a message to a particular user in a conversation.

#glennmagusharvey.
that doesn't work. Weird.
Seems like this forum software has a minor social networking function built in.
@Tnophelia
Huh, looks like it only works at the very start of the post.
Also, # is used to indicate channel names on IRC. You don't /join yackfest, you /join #yackfest.
